We follow the Diocese of Pittsburgh Curriculum Guidelines which are aligned with Pennsylvania State Education Standards.
All teachers hold Bachelors or Masters degrees and PA State Teacher Certifications. In addition, all teachers hold either Beginner or Advanced Catechetical Certificates through the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Students have access to in-house academic support through New Castle Area School District or the Midwestern IU4. In addition, we believe in an individualized approach to instruction, giving students access to the teacher one-on-one, and in small groups. This allows us to tailor our core curriculum to the needs of the individual and challenge all students at an appropriate level.
Bullying of any kind is not tolerated at St. Vitus School. We strive to foster an environment where children treat each other with dignity and respect in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. We strongly encourage our students, and parents, to report incidences of bullying immediately. Bullying incidents are handled on a case by case basis. For more information on bullying, please visit https://www.stopbullying.gov/.
